A high-octane non-stop martial arts action comic reminiscent of 90s video-games & anime!
Crimson Bay is a western martial arts comic series filled with high-octane action, taking inspiration from 90s fighting games like Final Fight, Streets of Rage, Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Tekken, and 80s/90s animes like Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, Fist of the North Star, Ninja Scroll, and many others.

My connection to martial arts is mainly through films, tv, anime, videogames, and all sorts of media I consumed throughout my life, really. Never got to practice it. I’ve been wanting to give Tai Chi a go, mainly for the relaxation, but who knows?
I’m looking to make the martial arts more realistic in the next issues though, so I’ve been doing a lot of research, watching videos on YouTube from masters of multiple martials arts, and getting fascinated with the world beyond what you see in the media. Starting to pay attention to the differences in technique to similar strikes – for example, how Karate, Muay Thai, and Tae Kwon Do all have very different ways to approach a low kick.
So who knows, this comic book series might get me to finally practice some martial art. I like the flashiest ones, but don’t think I have the athleticism or the youth for those anymore.
